Introduction

Journal of Integrated Socio-Economic Systems and Islamic Finance (JISSIF) welcomes the submission of original, high-quality scholarly work that advances knowledge and understanding within the fields covered by the journal's scope. The journal publishes original research articles, review papers, theoretical contributions, methodological studies, technical reports, and other forms of scholarly communication that demonstrate academic rigor and contribute meaningfully to ongoing research and professional practice.

All submitted manuscripts must represent original work and should not have been previously published, either in whole or in part, nor be simultaneously under consideration by another publication. Authors are expected to adhere to internationally recognized standards of publication ethics and research integrity throughout the submission, review, and publication process.

Authorship Policy

The length of the manuscript should be appropriate to the nature, complexity, and scope of the study. Excessive repetition and unnecessary detail should be avoided.

Structure of Research Articles

To facilitate effective communication of research findings, manuscripts should generally follow a recognized scholarly structure. While some variation may be appropriate depending on the nature of the work, research articles should normally include the following elements:

Title

Author Names and Affiliations

Corresponding Author Information

Abstract

Keywords

Introduction

Materials and Methods

Results

Discussion

Conclusion

Author Contributions

Funding

Conflict of Interest

Acknowledgements

References

Appendices (if applicable)

Supplementary Material (if applicable)

Title

The title serves as the first point of engagement for readers and should accurately reflect the content, purpose, and scope of the research. Titles should be informative, concise, and sufficiently descriptive to facilitate indexing and discoverability.

Abstract

The abstract should provide a concise yet comprehensive overview of the study. It should summarize the research objectives, methodology, principal findings, and key conclusions while emphasizing the significance and originality of the work. Abstracts should generally contain between 250 and 300 words and should be presented as a single paragraph without subheadings.

Keywords

Authors should provide between six and eight keywords that accurately represent the central themes of the manuscript. Keywords should complement the title and abstract and assist in indexing, retrieval, and discoverability of the article.

Introduction

The Introduction should establish the context and significance of the study, provide relevant background information, identify existing knowledge gaps, and clearly state the objectives or research questions addressed by the manuscript.

Abbreviations should be defined when first introduced. Where numerous abbreviations are used, authors may include a separate list of abbreviations following the main text.

Review articles should begin with a broad overview of the subject area before examining significant prior and contemporary literature. Authors are encouraged to provide critical analysis, identify emerging trends, and offer original perspectives rather than merely summarizing previously published reviews.

Materials and Methods

The Materials and Methods section should provide sufficient detail to enable readers to understand, evaluate, and where appropriate, replicate the study. Authors should clearly describe research design, data sources, materials, participants, procedures, instruments, analytical techniques, and software utilized in the investigation.

Where ethical approval, informed consent, funding support, or specialized equipment played a role in the research, these details should also be reported in this section. The methodology should be presented in a transparent manner that allows readers to assess the validity and reliability of the findings.

Results

The Results section should present the principal findings of the study in a logical and coherent manner. Tables, figures, graphs, and other visual elements should be used where they improve clarity and understanding. Authors should avoid unnecessary repetition of data already presented in tables or figures and should focus on reporting findings objectively and accurately.

Discussion

The Discussion should interpret the findings in light of the study's objectives and existing literature. Authors should explain the significance of their results, consider alternative interpretations where relevant, and discuss the broader implications of their work. Limitations of the study should also be acknowledged, together with recommendations for future research where appropriate.

Results and Discussion may be presented as separate sections or combined into a single integrated section if doing so improves the flow and readability of the manuscript.

Conclusion

The Conclusion should succinctly summarize the principal outcomes of the research and highlight its contribution to knowledge and practice. Authors may also identify future directions for investigation or practical applications arising from their findings.

Author Contributions

To ensure transparency and accountability, authors must provide a statement describing each author's specific contributions to the work. Contributions may include conceptualization, methodology, data collection, analysis, software development, supervision, project administration, funding acquisition, writing of the original draft, and review and editing of the manuscript.

Acknowledgements

The Acknowledgements section provides an opportunity to recognize individuals, institutions, organizations, or other entities that contributed to the research but do not meet the criteria for authorship. Authors are encouraged to acknowledge technical assistance, administrative support, access to facilities, or other forms of contribution where appropriate.

References and Citation Style

Accurate referencing is essential to scholarly communication and academic integrity. Authors are responsible for ensuring that all references are complete, accurate, and formatted consistently according to the APA/ASA citation style adopted by the Journal. List of references must be presented in alphabetical order.

References cited within the manuscript must appear in the reference list, and all entries in the reference list must be cited within the text. Authors are encouraged to cite primary and relevant scholarly sources and should avoid excessive self-citation. As a general guideline, self-citations should not exceed ten percent of the total references unless justified by the nature of the research.

Appendices and Supplementary Materials

Appendices

Appendices may be used to present material that is important for understanding, evaluating, or replicating the research but is too detailed or extensive to include within the main body of the manuscript. Examples include detailed methodological descriptions, interview schedules, questionnaires, coding frameworks, mathematical derivations, extensive tables, and supporting documentation. Appendices should appear after the reference list and should be clearly labeled as Appendix A, Appendix B, Appendix C, and so forth.

Supplementary Materials

Supplementary materials consist of additional content that supports the article but is not essential to understanding the main findings. Examples include datasets, multimedia files, software code, extended analyses, video demonstrations, audio recordings, large tables, and other supporting resources.

Supplementary files should be submitted separately from the main manuscript and cited appropriately within the text. These materials will be published online alongside the article and made available to readers as supplementary content.

Headings and Numbering

Authors should organize manuscripts using clear and logically structured headings and subheadings. Numbering may be used where appropriate to improve readability and document organization. The Journal generally permits up to three levels of heading hierarchy(i.e., 1; 1.1; 1.1.1).

Figures and Tables

Figures and tables play an important role in communicating research findings effectively. Authors should ensure that all visual materials are clear, legible, professionally prepared, and directly relevant to the manuscript.

Figures and tables should be cited sequentially within the text and accompanied by appropriate titles, captions, and explanatory notes where necessary. They may be embedded within the manuscript near their first citation or submitted separately with clear indications of their intended placement.

Figures should be submitted in high-quality formats such as PDF, TIFF, JPEG, Word. All symbols, abbreviations, and notations appearing within figures should be explained in the accompanying figure legend.

Tables should be provided in an editable format, preferably using Microsoft Word or Excel. Each table should carry a concise and descriptive title/caption and should be designed to present information clearly and efficiently.
